Jane served as the Executive Director for the Healthy Start Coalition of Hillsborough County, Inc., for many years. Over the past 30 years, Jane has invested much of her professional time and energy working in the fields of maternal child health and substance abuse prevention including 22 years as a Medical Social Worker specializing in perinatal bereavement for both St. Joseph’s Women’s Hospital and Tampa General Hospital. Jane’s research and best practices have been published in a variety of national professional journals and medical textbooks. She served as a member of the Florida Maternal Mortality Review Committee, was the co-chair of the Child Abuse Death Review Team, a member of the Fetal Infant Mortality Review Committee and many other local and state committees/boards. Jane was the past President of the Florida Association of Healthy Start Coalitions from 2009-2010 and from 2017-2019. Jane also served as the Fetal Infant Mortality Review (FIMR) Consultant for the Florida Department of Health (2022-2024).
